Problem Note 37242: An asynchronization between maxdata.lv10merch and maxdata.lv10mast causes the SASĀ® Merchandise Data Integration product load to fail
Merch_lkup values (numeric columns present in lv10mast and lv10merch tables) are used in SAS® Space Planning to decide how the product is displayed at the stores. For example, a SKU pen might display as a single pen or a dozen pens in a pack or a box of pens. The IMPS database architecture allows multiple merch_lkup values for a single product in the lv10merch table. However, the minimum of the merch_lkup values in the lv10merch table must be present in the lv10mast table for each and every SKU.
For example, consider a SKU pen has three different merch_lkup values, such as 1, 3, and 5, in the lv10merch table. The minimum of these three values (that is 1) should be present in the merch_lkup column for the SKU pen in lv10mast table. Instead, if the SKU pen had a merch_lkup value of 3 in the lv10mast table, then the SAS Merchandise Data Integration product load fails.
The SAS Space Planning application enables users to update the merch_lkup value of SKUs (from the front end). This updates an existing merch_lkup value for a SKU in the lv10merch table. From the above example, if a SAS Space Planning user no longer finds any use for the merch_lkup value 1 for pens and updates it to 4, the lv10merch table then has values 3, 4, and 5 for the SKU pen. However, the lv10mast table still has a merch_lkup value of 1. This is not the minimum of all merch_lkup values for pens in the lv10merch table (the minimum value in lv10merch table is 3). This asynchronization causes the SAS Merchandise Data Integration product load to fail.
